Salgados Go Forth on Instagram

In February of 2015, our family got rid of half of all we owned, moved to a house almost half the size so we could make our dream of traveling internationally with our four kids a reality. Travel just seemed like something other people did, you know, people with money and a savings account. More than anything, we wanted our kids to know the world is bigger, and discover how to honor and learn about people and lands, instead of just consume and conquer. 

Living smaller and more simply, along with a killer good time in Jorge's business (you know those come and go!) made it actually happen. It has been a lot of off season, economy flights, airbnb's and street/ local living food, which was perfect for learning about a culture and each other.  

So far we've been to London, Paris, Iceland (twice!), Costa Rica and Amsterdam! This summer (2018), we will be headed to Montreal and Prague in the fall. We are as green, new and bright eyed as they come, however, I am happy to report we are no longer clogging up airport lines and metros with our travel novice (thank heavens!!)....as our constant guide/question for ever lingers, "Are we being annoying Americans right now?!! OMG, we are...quick, fix it people!"
